Inspired By: Nicola Roberts

The second of my new features is 'Weekly Inspiration'. I will aim to post pictures of someone, or something that inspires me and will hopefully inspire you too, this week it's the beautiful and talented Nicola Roberts.

I'd really like to try and avoid the usual Alexa, Zoe, Olivia inspiration posts and although I don't think Nicola Roberts' rise to fame in the style stakes has gone un-noticed, she's not quite as constantly in your face as Alexa Chung. Don't get me wrong I love Alexa, but I'd just like to see something a little different.

I have to admit I have a real style crush on red heads with paler than pale skin in striking red lipstick at the moment, especially this season with all the gorgeous Autumn colours to compliment the complexion.

It's funny to think that just a couple of years ago Nicola Roberts was the 'ugly duckling' of girls aloud, constantly trying to compete with the other girls, and to her detriment I think. Now she's in her element and I'd much rather have her wardrobe than any of the other members of Girls Aloud (don't even get me started on Cheryl Cole being top of the best dressed list in the majority of so called 'style' magazines).

What are your thoughts on Nicola's style?

Last but not least, here are some other lovely flame haired beauties to feast your eyes upon.

Great post! She has a great style! I have never really taken the time to notice just how great her style is. I love the photo of her in the coral skirt! I think her style is great because the average person could adapt her looks to fit their own style as well.

I've never really seem much of here, save a few photos over the controversy a while back for being very pale (which is silly). I don't think they've ever played any Girls Aloud in the US at all! I think she's very beautiful. I can sympathize being pale myself, the challenges of wanting to fit in. But I think she finally appears to be comfortable in her own skin, and probably has a great stylist!

Love love love this post! I'm a natural redhead and I'm stupidly pale (I reflect sunlight, that's how ghost-like I am haha!) so Nichola is a huge inspiration :) xxx

I love Nicola, she's absolutely beautiful and I think she's so strong for keeping her head held high during those times when people were hating on her for being talented and successful.
She's got a great eye for fashion, her business is thriving and it seems shes going from strength to strength- good on her!

Oh I think she's gorgeous and doing really well in a quiet sort of way to develop her style. She always looks really classy.

As for Cheryl, bleurgh! She dresses like a complete skank.

Definitely an inspiration to anyone who has the similar look to her, pale with red hair, let alone to every other girl out there! I love how she's made herself her own person and finally been drawn away from the fake girl group look xx

d'you know, I always thought she was the prettiest of them. I think red hair on a girl is beautiful. I like that she wears 40s style stuff, which suits her beautifully, but there is always something a little modern and edgy added in. and she always looks ladylike.

I think she looks really stylish and so much better since she decided t embrace her pale skin rather than hide it under truck loads of foundation or fake tan...but my gosh is she thin!!

Lovely post! And in answer to your question (about my hair) my boyfriend bleached the tips for me. I'm not sure if they can do it in salons or not. You'd have to find out, unless you had someone you can trust enough to do it for you x

completely agree, Nicola has a unique beauty, sexiness and effortless style that leaves all the other girls in the band out of the game. She's a budding style icon and I'm sure we are going to see a lot more of her in the near future. I'm sooooo considering going red-head :P

Great post, I totally agree with everything you've said.
She was definately very try-hard in the beggining (I blame being in a band with Cheryl and Nadine), but her style has really grown with her self-esteem and she is definately the best dressed out of them all :D
