    Autumn / Winter Wardrobe Wishlist

L - R: Leopard Print Faux Fur Jacket, Floppy Hat, Chunky Knit Sweater, Cream Chiffon Dress all New Look.

As usual I'm very excited about my Autumn / Winter wardrobe, I already have lots of lovely winter warmers, but would love to add all of these babies to the collection. I'm loving lots of leather and velvet fabrics mixed with animal print and wine coloured pieces as I'm sure you can see.

    What's on your winter wishlist?

    Vintage Vision: Part Three

These pictures were actually taken waaay back at the beginning of Summer, although they could have easily been taken this time last week, during the early October heat wave where apparently England experienced the highest recorded temperatures in October in over 100 years (fun fact!)

I think it's safe to say now though that we are officially in the midst of Autumn, I got the first wear out of my perfect wine coloured chunky knit sweater and my opaque tights are already glued to my legs. I wanted to use the final part of my Vintage Vision series to re-cap on my favourite trends of the summer, both vintage and high street, and how I'll be reinventing some of them for the colder months ahead.

    ~ Outfit Details ~
    Vintage Sleeveless Blouse - Thrifted
Tan Skinny Waist Belt - Primark
Vintage Nude Midi Skirt - Thrifted
    Two Tone Brogues - Primark
    Vintage Watch - Thrifted

The key looks this summer have ranged from ladylike Sixties to Biker chic, and Seventies glamour to all out punk rock, but what were my favourite pieces? read on to find out...

Floral Dresses ~ One of my absolute favourite trends all year round, a cute vintage floral tea dress with gladiator sandals, messy hair and a stick or red lipstick = perfection to me. For the colder months just add a pair of opaque tights some black patent loafers and a floppy hat.

Lace ~ I love lace. I have numerous lace tops and dresses, they're so versatile, perfect for nights out in summer and even better for a daytime casual look with a leather biker jacket thrown over a white lace dress.

Maxi Dresses ~ Look lovely with a nice pair of sandals in summer, but I much prefer mine with a long chunky knit cardigan and a pair of doc martins in winter.

Stripes ~ For me stripes will never go out of fashion, whether thick or thin, they make any outfit classic.

Fit & Flair Dresses ~ Perfect for a curvy figure, they look great with long lean tanned legs and lots of jewellery during summer but I'll be adding the obligatory opaque tights and a pair of Chelsea boots for a more casual look over the next few months.

Crop tops ~ I loved wearing crop tops over dresses or vest tops this summer and will continue to wear this trend but with a chunky cardigan layered on top.

Denim Cut-offs ~ Another trend that's been around for a few years now and I don't see it going anywhere any time soon. In summer I like to go bare legged with a nice pair of espadrilles and a crop top. For winter I'll be swapping the espadrilles for a pair of pixie boots and the crop top for a tailored blouse or rock t-shirt.

Midi Skirts ~ As you can see from the outfit pictures above, I do own at least one midi skirt, I'm still not completely taken aback with this trend, I don't think it personally suits my figure and I probably won't be carrying this trend into Autumn/Winter.

Pleats ~ Pleated skirts were flying off the rails early this year and are still the skirt staple we all need in our wardrobes, I already have a few mid-length pleated skirts, but would like to add a shorter version to my collection to wear with my thigh high leather boots and chunky sweaters.

What trends will you be carrying over to Autumn/Winter?

    Inspired By: Lou Doillon

Lou Doillon, for those of you in the dark, is a French model and actress, previously having worked for the likes of Gap, Givenchy and the heritage jeans brand Lee Cooper. Doillon is also the daughter of Sixties style icon Jane Birkin.

Until recently I'd never heard of her myself, but after spotting her in an old issue of Glamour magazine, I googled her faster than you can say 'I have a new girl crush'.

Give me a girl with messy hair and smeared red lipstick over the likes of super shiney Cheryl Cole cloans any day. Leopard print fur paired with rock tees and leather shorts; be still my beating heart. Move over Moss and Ms Chung, Lou Doillon is here to stay.
