Retail Therapy #1

Following my little adventure to Nottingham, as promised, some pictures of my thrifty finds...

Nude Lace Dress - Primark Sale - £3
I thought this was such a bargain that I also purchased one in Navy, but unfortunately this got covered in chocolate cake before I got the chance to take these pictures.

Vintage Night Dress - Charity Shop - £2
I'm planning on either taking this up to make a short dress or a blouse, haven't decided which yet.

Denim Shirt - Charity Shop - £4
I'm thinking of wearing this with my polka dot shirt from this post, or some shorts.

Marks & Spencer Blouse - Charity Shop £2
I found this amazing Charity Shop back in Derby that sells everything for £2 or less, and it's pretty much on my walk to work.

Lace Victorian Style Blouse - Charity Shop - £3
I'm planning on pairing this with my chocolate brown shorts, a tan belt, black opaque tights and my heeled brogues. Perfect for Autumn.

Polka Dot Blouse - Charity Shop - £2.50

Denim Shirt Dress - Primark Sale - £5

White Blouse - Charity Shop - £2.50

Black Lace Shirt - Charity Shop - £3

Long Denim Shorts - Charity Shop - £2.50
These are probably my favourite purchase of the day, I can't wait to wear these with a white blouse, tan belt and wedges.

Vintage blue and white stripey skirt - Charity Shop - £3
Not sure yet whether to take this up yet or leave it as is.

Aubergine Skirt - Charity Shop - £2

Nude Pumps - Primark - £4

Wuthring Heights - Charity Shop - 75p

Belt -  Charity Shop - 50p

The majority of my finds can quite easily be incorporated into my Autumn wardrobe, so I'm quite happy with that.

So what do you think?

OOTD: Bright Lights Big City

Well it's big in comparison to Derby, but I'm not sure about the bright lights. Today I took a little trip to Nottingham to have a wander around some of their vintage and thrift stores as unfortunately Derby doesn't have much in the way of Boutiques or Individually run stores.

Today's outfit isn't particularly inspiring and neither are the pictures, as I was in such a rush to go out, so I'll keep this post short.

I did a lot of walking, and to be honest I didn't really find very many stores, I possibly should have taken someone with me who knows their way around Nottingham. Fortunately the shops I did find had some real treasures that I cannot wait to wear.

My walking shoes, not terribly exciting and the one on the left is slightly bigger than the other as my boyfriend though it would be funny to try to squeeze his foot into it. I was not amused.

OOTD: Polka Dots and Pleats

Nothing says English summer like a BBQ in the park and so for my friend Tom's birthday we headed out to the local park to eat hot dogs, drink beer and watch it rain. I donned my best 'picnic' ensemble for what I was hoping would be a sunny affair, unfortunately this was not to be.

OOTD: The Jean Genie

I think skinny jeans have fallen slightly out of favour this summer, for a more wide leg, boyfriend style or harem pant, although lets face it they've been around long enough now to be a classic.

I will always adore my favourite pair of skinny jeans. These jeans have had a special place in my wardrobe for many years now and just by adding a turn up it seems to completely change them.

I picked up this pretty little locket in the Top Shop sale, but annoyingly it keeps turning the wrong way around (as I'm sure you can see) no matter which way I wear it.

Outfit Details

Jean's - 'Vintage' Primark
Vest - Dorothy Perkins
Corduroy Waistcoat - Thrifted
Locket - Top Shop
Tan Wedges (as before) - Thrifted

OOTD: Dress Du Jour

I thought it's about time I actually got round to posting, so I'll start with a little Summer ensemble. This is my favourite summer dress (so far), it has a pretty delicate floral pattern that is quite subtle. Like I said previously I loath bright colours or crazy patterns, I much prefer a simple pattern and muted colours.

I purchased this vintage pocket watch pendant from a car boot sale a few weeks ago for just £2. I attached it to a long gold chain and voila! I think I like the idea that it must have a story behind it, like with all vintage peices it obviously belonged to someone else, so it makes you wonder.

I apologise for the terrible location of these and future photgraphs, unfortunately this is the only available space in my bedroom and I'm not brave enough to venture out into the big wide world with my camera yet.
