OOTD: Oversized Jumper

I'm very excited about two things this week, the first one being my eBay shop. I have just purchased my very own dress makers mannequin, I've really wanted one for a while now, I just think they give your pictures a much more professional look and the amount of time it's going to save me is of course a huge bonus.

I've also been collecting lots of vintage pieces and customising various items over a past month, including a gorgeous velvet peter pan collar skater dress (inspired by the Alexa for Madewell dress) that I can't wait to show you.

Once my mannequin arrives (bought on eBay) I'm probably going to spend a couple of days holed up in my bedroom taking pictures ready for the grand unveiling, I have a huge pile of old, new, vintage and customised pieces just dying to be in some ones wardrobe.

The second reason for my excitement is that I'm going to Amsterdam in a couple of weeks for my friend Stacey's 30th Birthday, I really can't wait, but there is a downside to this. I've had to set myself a strict no spending rule for the rest of the month in order to pay for the trip and actually have some money to spend once I get out there.

You may think not buying any new clothes for a month is easy, but not for me. Ever since I got my first paid job I've been a shoppaholic, fortunately for my bank balance I'm also a serious thrifter and general bargain hunter otherwise I'd probably be homeless by now.

This outfit is my favourite out of the collection I photographed at the weekend because I love everything about it, the muted tones, the oversized chunky sweater and the tan boots and wooly tights combination.

I'm not really sure about the hat though, I just don't think hats suit me, I've been back and forth on whether I should buy the H&M bowler hat as I've seen it on so many other blogs and it looks so lovely but I just don't think I'm a hat person.

Before I 'sign-off' I just wanted to mention that I've not had the best week this week for various reasons, but your lovely comments have kept me smiling and it's been so lovely to see so many new followers.

OOTD: Chunky Knit Cardigans

Hey Girls and Boys!

I hope you've all had fantastic weekends? I didn't really do too much except a bit of shopping and I finally got around to watching Avatar. I also spent most of Saturday afternoon taking pictures for the blog, I still haven't got the DSLR working so these are with my Samsung Digital Camera but they're not too bad.

This outfit is pretty much made-up totally of Primark bits and pieces (I've only just realised that) and my new favourite thrifted cardigan.

I'm not really sure about these boots, I think they make my legs look especially short and dumpy, and since I've purchased yet another pair of lace-up boots from H&M on Saturday, I might take these back (I haven't worn them out yet).

I'm quite excited about Saturday's purchases actually, apart from the boots I also bought a cute black and white polka dot tea dress and some black paper bag shorts from H&M and a blue and white embroidered cardigan and a pretty floral laptop bag from Primark.

Don't forget to check out my giveaway if you haven't already!

OOTD: Crushed Velvet

I took these pictures about a week before I went on holiday whilst dressed for a house warming party on Saturday night. Initially I hated all the pictures so wasn't going to post them, but whilst uploading pictures of my latest thrift haul I just found a couple that weren't totally heinous so I decided to post them.

I'm pretty much addicted to vintage blouses at the moment and have bought several over the past few months, they just go so perfectly with everything; short skirts, long skirts, tapered trousers, jeans, shorts and especially this gorgeous little crushed velvet swing mini.

This is probably my favourite blouse at the moment as I just adore the collar, it's like a cross between crochet and lace that makes it that bit unique.

I think I love the colour of this skirt more than anything else, it's a mixture of brown, gold and grey and I think it looks so much nicer than the usual black, blue or red, although to be honest I love velvet in any colour.

My hair is looking desperately dull in these pictures, but I finaly have my hair cut booked in for next Thursday, I cannot wait, I thinking of taking it a bit shorter, maybe shoulder length, what do you think?

Lastly, I just wanted to say Hello and Welcome to all my new followers and a big thank you to all my lovely loyal  readers that keep coming back, you really do make my day.

All the leaves are brown

Hola Ladies!

I'm back from my trip to the Canary Islands and Autumn has definitely arrived. I'm feeling refreshed and inspired, so here is a little taster of what I got up to, not much going on fashion wise, but I promised lots of photo's so here they are...

Essential reading material.

Me on the first day -  pre tan.

The boy, clearly astonished at the price of this genuine 'Chanel' bag.

A couple of kittens took a bit of a liking to us, but unfortunately Eddie wouldn't let me bring them home, he's a big meanie.

Me and the boy with a little bit of colour, even if that colour is red.

We enjoyed a Camel ride (sooo this season).

I only really wore strapless tops during the day to avoid getting any tan lines.

The Green Lagoon.

The view from our balcony at night.

On the coast.

This is one of my favourite dresses/tops ever I have two in different colours and they are so versatile and flattering and for only £2.99 from H&M you can't go wrong, can you?

Finally, waiting to come home. Booo!

I had such a lovely week with my wonderful boyfriend with way too much eating, drinking and sunbathing.

As I said above I'm feeling very inspired particularly to read more books, search out new music and I am looking into studying fashion in some way too, I'm not quite sure which field I would like to go into yet, but having already studied fashion design 10 years ago I know I don't want to do that again.

My DSLR camera is still broken, but I promise to post some pictures using my other camera later in the week.

Jolly Holidays

Hello Fellow Fashionistas!

I've had a rubbish few days this week, first ebay cancelled all my listings an hour prior to the auctions end, then I found all the handbags I'd stored in a suitcase in my cellar had gone mouldy, and lastly having an argument with my house mate (and landlord), but as I am writing this I am a mere 10 hours away from sitting by the beach with a cold beer in my hand in Sunny Lanzarote.

So this will be my last post for a week, I'm sorry I haven't been organised like most of you serious bloggers and arranged a scheduled post, mostly becasue my camera is still on the blink and I can't get any decent pictures.

Before I go off to sunnier climates I thought I would leave you with a few pictures of where I will be spending the next week....I promise to bring back lots of photo's.

Lastly, I apologise for being a little behind with responding to comments but I promise once I get back I'll respond to each and every one.

Have a great week Ladies!

OOTD: Floral Fancy

Hello Fellow bloggers, I can't believe it's already Sunday again, and I have a rather annoying hangover following a few too many beers at a friends house warming party last night.

I finally got round to using my new background yesterday and I'm quite pleased, I say quite because I've been having major camera problems over the last few days, I'm sure you already know about if you follow me on facebook or Twitter (shameless plug, I know). The camera has stopped focusing properly causing the images to be ever so slightly blurry and over exposed. It also means I couldn't take any close up detailed pictures of my shoes or accessories.

This was probably my third or fourth outting of my new favourite dress. It's just so comfortable and versatile I can wear it with pretty much anything. It's actually the same as the bird dress in my last post just with a different pattern.

I'm totally loving oversized jumpers right now, but can you believe this is supposed to be a size 20? I picked it up from a charity shop and it was actually covered in diamantés, so I've spent hours carefully cutting them all off individually because I just know this is going to be one of my favourite comfy jumpers over the winter.

I've barely taken these boots off either since I purchased them last week, they are amazingly comfortable, but give me those extra couple of inches (although I've only just realised that one of my shoelaces were actually undone throughout every photo).

Lastly, as promised, I've answered the following questions as tagged by Irene from Irene and a Blog, You should definitely check out this blog, it's just adorable.

1) Why did you start blogging?
I was acually telling a friend last night, One day earlier this year I was trawling the internet looking for pictures of Christina Hendricks (Joan Holloway from Mad Men) for inspiration, when I came across a link for this blog. Now this girl has amazing style and really interesting quirky taste, it totally inspired me to start a blog of my own.

2) Do you prefer Spring/Summer or Autumn/Winter?
Weather wise without a doubt I prefer Spring/Summer. I love long summer days, especially if I'm not at work, sat in the sunshine with a beer in my hand. But fashion wise it has to be Autumn/Winter. I love my chunky knit jumpers, opaque tights and  knee high boots, I'm so excited for this season.

3) What do you notice first: Smokey eye make-up or bright lips?
Definitely bright lips, I'm so envious of people that can carry it off.

4) Who are your style icons?
As I said previously Christina Hendricks, as Joan Holloway in Mad Men and Alexa Chung (obviously), Olivia Palermo, Pixie Lott and my fellow bloggers of course.

5) Describe your personality in three words?
Hmmmm, Sarcastic, Loyal and Excitable.

6) If you had to leave the house with only one item of make-up what would it be?
My eyebrow pencil. I have thin blonde eyebrows that you can barely see without pencil, so it's actually a necessity if I don't want to look like I haven't got any eyebrows.

7) Which era do you think influenced fashion the most.
This is quite a tough question because fashion is constantly changing to mimic different eras, but right now I would say the 1940's/50's.

8) What beauty product do you always repurchase?
Rimmel lasting finish foundation.

...Now my turn to tag again...

Before I leave you all for another couple of days, I wanted to do a little shout-out to my lovely friend and fellow fashionista Kim, She's off to Newcastle University in a couple of weeks to study fashion, Good Luck Kim. I'm so very jealous.

OOTD: Tweet Tweet

Now I'm not really sure about this dress, I love the shape, I love the colour, but I'm not really sure about the bird print, I think at 27 years of age, I might be, well, too old for it, or it too young for me, what do you think?

The shoes I've had in my closet forever, I rarely wear them, but on this occasion I thought I'd give my tanned heeled brogues a well deserved day off and whip out these beauties, the heels are a little high for my usual standard, but what the heck.

I've finally had enough of the rubbish location of all my photos, and living in a lively city centre with two other house mates I had little choice but to invest in a photographic backdrop. It's just plain white but I think this will focus the attention on my outfit rather than the dodgy shelf and banister in my previous photos, and I think it will be good for my eBay shop too. I haven't set it up yet but I'm very excited to start taking pictures.

I've been a busy little bee this week, parcelling up eBay packages, customising more pieces, yet more shopping and signing up to pretty much every networking site in the entire universe. So I would really love it if you would check me out in the following places.

Last week I was tagged by two lovely ladies, Emma from Circusbox and Irene from Irene and a Blog, but as I don't want to bombard you with info so I'll start with Emma's tag today and then Irene's tag in my next post.

1) What is your favourite Fashion Magazine?
I don't really have a favourite but I love In Style and Grazia.

2) Who is your favourite Singer / Band?
My favourite group at the moment are The XX, they write the most amazing lyrics to the most beautiful sounds I just adore them. I also love Mumford and Sons, Yeasayer and LCD Soundsystem.

3) Who is your favourite You Tube guru?
I don't really visit You Tube very often so I don't really have one.

4) What is your favourite Make-up product?
Hmmm, this is a toughy, probably my foundation, I have freckles, not that I really mind them, but it evens out my skin tone and it makes me look more polished I guess.

5) Where would you like to live?
Another tough one. I would like to live some where warm, so probably Australia, but I'd settle for the South of France or in third place an English country cottage.

6) What in your favourite Film.
High Fideity. Fact

7) How many pairs of shoes do you own?
...Just counting... 55 in total including boots, pumps and heels.

8) What is your favourite colour?
I actually don't have an overall favourite colour, but clothing wise, I'd probably choose black.

Now my turn to tag!

Catherine ~ Lady Liquor Vintage
Lizzie ~ Quite Quaint
Jessie ~ The Velvet Bow

...and finally...
